We went to San Francisco in the middle of May for Tim to go to Google I/O, a software developers' conference that's been running for about 5 years. He's always wanted to go b/c they always give out really neat gadgets, like brand-new phones. This was his first year to actually go, and what did they give out? A slightly-better version of the expensive laptop that Tim had JUST bought 2 months before. I think it's hilarious that Tim actually uses both laptops instead of selling the one he already had. That's a coder for ya, always finding uses for the millions of gadgets he has!
The kids and I explored San Francisco. We lived in the area 2 years ago so we knew some of the good sights; there was more I wanted to do but I'm happy that we had a good time doing the things we knew. We also relied entirely on public transportation, even taking the train down the peninsula to see a friend in Palo Alto. (She did give us a ride halfway back up the peninsula so we could get on a closer train, since it was late in the evening and the trains weren't running as often. She would have taken us all the way back up to our hotel but she couldn't leave her son with her dad for that long since he was on medication that made him too drowsy to be a reliable caretaker.)
Another friend from Sunnyvale rode the train up to see us and we spent all day at the Yerba Buena playground. It was so much fun to reconnect and watch our children do the same! Friendship truly is what make the world go round :D

Charlotte loved the sand!
And so did Lily and Jack!
